PPF, or Paint Protection Film, is a clear polyurethane film applied to a vehicle’s painted surfaces to protect against scratches, chips, stains, and other environmental damage. It's sometimes referred to as a "clear bra."
• Top Layer: Urethane or thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) with self-healing properties.
• Adhesive Layer: Pressure-sensitive adhesive that bonds the film to the vehicle’s surface.
• Backing Layer: Protective liner that is removed during installation.
• Scratch & Chip Resistance: Protects from rock chips, key scratches, and light abrasions.
• Self-Healing: Minor scratches disappear with heat (sunlight or warm water).
• UV Protection: Prevents paint fading and oxidation.
• Hydrophobic Properties: Water and dirt slide off more easily.
• Long-Term Value: Maintains resale value by preserving factory paint.
1. Surface Preparation: Thorough cleaning and sometimes polishing.
2. Film Cutting: Pre-cut using software or hand-trimmed.
3. Application: Film applied with a slip solution; edges are wrapped for an invisible finish.
4. Curing Time: Takes 24–48 hours to settle and cure properly.
